You Become What You Think: Choose Positivity

Your thoughts shape your reality. This may seem woo woo but the truth is your mindset affects everything. If you’re constantly thinking negative thoughts, eventually this starts to reflect on your outside world. But on the flip side, when you shift your mindset to choose positive thoughts, everything changes around you for the better. Learn how to control your mind, bring in positivity, and have amazing results.

Your Mind Is Always Listening

Your thoughts are where it all starts. Your subconscious thoughts tell your mind stories of what it should believe and over time these tiny thoughts grow to be firm beliefs that we base our reality off. This can work for you more commonly it works against you. Most of our subconscious thoughts stem from negativity which eventually leads us to believe these negative beliefs about ourselves or the world around us. And when you start believing these messages your reality matches up bringing you more outcomes that work against you. But it’s not all doom and gloom you have the ability to change your thoughts at any time just by becoming aware. And in turn this affects your beliefs which changes the outcome of your reality. 

Catch and Reframe Negative Thoughts

Becoming aware of our thought patterns is the first step in being able to change them. When you first start to notice your inner voice coming at you with a negative tone, don’t feel upset—be proud that you have been able to catch it and are now aware of what needs to change.
Once you are comfortable with catching these negative thoughts, it’s now time to reframe them. If you naturally tell yourself you’ll never be good at something, reframing the thought to “success takes time, but I am on the right path” will eventually start to sink in. This can take a while to feel the results, but with consistency, you’ll be able to rewrite the automatic thoughts.

Visualize the Version of You Who Thinks Positively

Visualisation is a powerful tool. Imagine the most confident, positive version of you. In your mind or on a sheet of paper, answer:

  • What does she think each morning?
  • How does she handle setbacks?
  • What energy does she bring into a room?
  • What would she think about this situation?

When you have a clear picture of what this person is like and how they handle things, it’s time to apply these new behaviours to your life. Everything you have thought of is your new mindset. Act as if you are already that person, because there is nothing stopping you. Just a simple mindset shift. Apply these thoughts daily, and over time they will become more natural.

Use Positive Affirmations Daily

Positive affirmations can help cement new empowering thought patterns into your brain. Say these affirmations out loud or in your mind three times each day, or even write them down. By repeating these positive statements, your brain will believe what you tell it.

  • “I attract positive energy and good things.”
  • “I am worthy of love, success, and happiness.”
  • “My thoughts are powerful, and I choose the good ones.”

Surround Yourself With Positivity

Surrounding yourself with positivity from all angles helps you embrace your new lifestyle. Here are some quick ideas to add more positivity into your life:

  • Listen to uplifting podcasts
  • Follow inspiring people online
  • Read books that motivate you
  • Spend time with people who bring out your best

You have the power

The ability to change your reality is such an amazing skill that you have the power and control over to start today. To start seeing huge changes you will need to put in the time and effort to become aware of your thoughts but once you master how to change them you will become unstoppable. You can decide how you want to feel at any given moment so make each one count!
